Lil Man “Wins” 1st TeamPOA Maddeness Tournament
- Updated: November 21, 2012
Justin Barone goes by the nickname “Lil Man” in the Madden community. Known on the competitive scene for a couple of years now, Justin is the first competitor qualified for the live finals. He recently won a LAN tournament hosted by Players of America, where the prize was a guaranteed trip sponsored by Virgin Gaming and Sony.
Miss your chance? Keep your eyes open and your game sharp because you never know when the opportunity may arise!
Name: Justin Barone Game: Madden NFL Style: Instinctive Advice: Using audibles to adjust to the defense shown to me allows me to score every drive. If you aren’t scoring nearly every drive you aren’t making presnap reads or using audibles. You can’t win.
Carl: Justin you’re the first person to be able to skip the online semifinals and go directly to Las Vegas. You must be excited! Give us your thoughts on the beautiful city and your expectations of the tournament.
Justin: I am very excited to be able to skip the online semifinals because It was going to be very tough to get through those two games. I have never been to Las Vegas in my life and I’m glad to finally be able to go and see how great the city is. My Expectations of the tournament are very high. I expect myself to be in the final game for the $140,000 grand prize and win it all because I’ve been due for a big win for quite sometime now. I’m going to take it a game at a time and do what i do.
Carl: Let’s just get this out of the way here – what do you plan to spend the cash on if you win?
Justin: You might have heard about Hurricane Sandy that hit my state and town not so long ago. I will be donating at least 5 G’s to RedCross. I love my state and I always know where I come from. We are JerseyStrong
Carl: When you began winning notable tournaments, you were a relative unknown. What helped you explode out of the pack to the top of the heap?
Justin: I just kept winning. That’s all. I just win
Carl: They say that you leave as fast as you arrive, but that’s not the case for you. You’ve started out on top and have stayed there. What do you attribute to this?
Justin: Just finding the best plays that work and playing with the best team on the game that current year. I know people hate it when you play with the best team but this is for $140,000 on the line here and I’ll do whatever it takes to get it.
Carl: What advice would you give to the group of 1,024 Madden players hoping to win their semifinal games and make it out to Las Vegas?
Justin: No matter how much you are down in a game. You can always come back and win. I remember I was down by 10 or more points in big time games and I’ve come back and won. My favorite quote is “No matter how down you are, You’re never out” by Frankie Edgar. That is the motto I use when I play in tournaments.
Carl: Give us your favorite play.
Justin: My favorite play on Offense is Bunch ace. There is so many routes you can do and it’s really hard to stop.
Carl: Can’t wait to see you in Vegas! Any shoutouts before we go?
Justin: I would like to shout out to my Crew EMB (Elite Madden Ballers) We are not just only a Madden Crew, We are a family. We talk about real life things like girlfriends, jobs, bills, etc. My commish Squeeze, Co- commish Evil O, Litezout, Fasico, Joke, RobMTO, P-fan, Dante and B-ran. All my family and friends I love all of you. Also shout to my hometown (732) Crew and TRUEGRINDSTUDIOS. Please check them out on Facebook. WE GOING TO BRING THE TITLE BACK TO JERSEY! JERSEY STRONG FOREVER
